New Delhi: A city court today granted bail
to former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) official Brigadier
Ujjal Dasgupta who was accused of passing sensitive inputs to
a woman American diplomat posted here in 2006.

Dasgupta is the third and last accused to get bail as
Commodore (Retd) Mukesh Saini and a senior System Analyst Shib
Shankar Paul who were his co-accused have already been
released on bail by the Tees Hazari court here.

The court of Sessions Judge Inder Jeet Singh ordered to
release Dasgupta, arrested in 2006 by the special cell of the
Delhi Police, on a surety of Rs 50,000.

The sensational case came to light in June 2006 when
Delhi Police claimed that it has arrested three persons -- RAW
official Brigadier Ujjal Dasgupta, Saini, who was formerly
working with NSCS and Paul -- on charges of passing secret
information to American diplomat Rosanna Minchew.
