New Delhi: The Cabinet had cleared an Externment Order, which was then prepared to be served on Baba Ramdev when he was received by four ministers at the ceremonial lounge of Delhi airport.

The decision was to speak to him and serve the order and send him back to Haridwar.

Inexplicably, one of the Minister`s present spoke to the PMO and the order was changed. This happened not once but, twice.

The second occasion was the meeting between Kapil Sibal, Subodh Kant Sahay and Baba Ramdev at the Claridges hotel.

A senior official of Delhi Police was present at the location armed with the order and ready to whisk Baba Ramdev away.

However Ramdev gave the letter signed by his acolyte, and the two ministers rushed to the PM.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Pranab Muhkerjee was already upset with the talks and said that the assurance extended by Baba Ramdev that he would call off the fast at 4 pm on Saturday should be followed to the letter.

Home Minister P Chidambaram, who had already cancelled six flights to Chennai, said that he would grant an extra hour till 5 pm, but then action had to be taken.

And because of the over-confidence of some ministers, the entire Ram Lila incident happened.

A senior minister said to Zee News, "We bungled no end. And, Sonia Gandhi let the culpable minister who tried to justify, have it in the later meetings."
