Ponting determined to keep playing Test cricket

Sydney: Australian batsman Ricky Ponting has said that he is not thinking of retirement and is determined to play in the upcoming Test series against New Zealand.
Since the Ashes last December, Ponting has averaged just 14.15 from 13 innings. However, the 37-year-old’s gritty knock in Australia’s record-breaking chase in the second Test against South Africa in Johannesburg has proved that he deserves a spot in the squad. “Of course I want to keep playing. I really enjoy it and always have. It’s a great team to be a part of at the moment,” a leading daily quoted Ponting, as saying. “I want to be around and hopefully be able to have some sort of impact on the way the team plays. If I keep doing my job, then hopefully I keep getting picked,” he added. The first Test starts in Brisbane on December 1. ANI
