Finally, independence for MT Pavit

Attempts to refloat MT Pavit - the 999-tonne vessel that was stranded off the Juhu beach since July 31 – finally paid dividends on Monday when authorities managed to tow the Panama-flagged vessel back to sea.

Mumbai: Attempts to refloat MT Pavit - a 999-tonne vessel that was stranded off the Juhu beach since July 31 – finally paid dividends on Monday when authorities managed to tow the Panama-flagged vessel back to sea.

On Sunday, the authorities had removed sand around the vessel and tilted it 35 degree towards the sea using tugs.
MT Pavit had drifted towards the Juhu beach on July 31, after the coastal security agencies missed to intercept the vessel.
