was today served a show-cause notice by the state party unit`s
disciplinary wing for alleged anti-party activities.
The disciplinary action wing of the Meghalaya Pradesh
Congress Committee (MPCC) headed by P W Muktieh took
cognisance of media reports which quoted Nongtdu as saying
that the recent election to the post of MPCC president was
"There was lot of ill-feeling on the day of filing the
nomination. I was asked to go for consensus," Nongtdu was
quoted as saying by a section of the media.
The disciplinary committee, in the show-cause, asked
Nongtdu to clarify if the statements that appeared in the
media were true and why he did not give in any clarification
if they were false.
Nongtdu, a former Rajya Sabha MP and also a former
MPCC president, has been asked to reply within August 12.
