Four from UP held for kidnap and murder of AP boy
Four persons from Uttar Pradesh, who allegedly killed a nine-year-old boy after abducting him from Moosapet area here and even collected a ransom of Rs 10 lakh, have been arrested, police said today.

The mystery behind the disappearance of Deep Patel (9)
has been solved with the arrest of the prime accused Shaik
Ibadur Rahman, a native of Kashiram Nagar district, and three
of his associates from Etah district in Uttar Pradesh,
Sanathnagar Inspector of Police A Balakoti said.
Rahman, who earlier partnered in business with Ranchod
Patel, father of the deceased, subsequently set up his own
showroom in Miyapur, but it proved to be an unsuccessful
venture and he ran in deep financial trouble, Balakoti said.
"Due to the financial trouble, Ibadur Rahman, along
with other accused, planned to kidnap Ranchod Patel`s son, and
demand a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. As part of the plan, they
abducted Deep on April 21 while he was playing near his house
and took him to a rented room," the police officer said.
In the meanwhile, Rahman contacted his associates and
asked them to call Ranchod Patel and demand the ransom money
for the boy`s release and also not to approach the police.
However, the accused apprehended the boy may identify
them after his release. Hence, they strangled him on the
intervening night of April 23-24 and buried the body, the
police officer said.
Even after the boy was killed, as per the directions
of Rahman, his associates made several calls to Ranchod Patel
demanding the ransom which was paid on May 5. The next day,
all the four shared the amount and fled to their native
villages, the Inspector said.
Acting on reliable information, the police arrested
the four and brought them to Sanathnagar here yesterday, the
Deep`s body was exhumed yesterday and handed over to
the relatives after an autopsy, while Rs 7.5 lakh was
recovered from the suspects, the Inspector added.
