Four Lankan fishermen apprehended

Chennai: In the third such incident since January this year, Coast Guard apprehended a Sri Lankan fishing boat with four fishermen for allegedly crossing
the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).

The Lankan fishermen were apprehended by ICGS Vajra while on patrol yesterday at 6.45 AM over 15 nautical miles off Andhra Pradesh coast, a Coast Guard press release said.
Coast Guard also recovered 265 kg of fish catch from them, it said. The four were apprehended for violating Section 3/10 (fishing without licence) and Section 7/14 (passport and foreigners act) of Maritime Zones of India Act, 1981.
