Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani saw his ancestor Sheikh Abdul Qadir Gilani's handwritten manuscripts, sitting mat and robe at a museum in Qatar.

Gilani, who was on a three-day official visit, visited Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani museum to witness a rare collection of Islamic art and Qatari heritage, Associated Press of Pakistan reported from Qatar.

The museum houses a private collection of over 3,000 pieces accumulated by Qatari businessman Sheikh Faisal at his farm house in Samariyah, some 22 km west of Doha.

Gilani had a look at collection of ceramics, weapons, jewels and currency, some dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries.

The Prime Minister evinced keen interest in the belongings of his ancestor, whose manuscripts, sitting mat and robe have been placed at the museum.
