Pune: Terming the verdict in the Bhopal gas
disaster case as unfortunate, CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury
on Tuesday asked the Central government to go in for an appeal
against it.
The investigations into the case were not carried out
properly, he told reporters here, adding a fresh inquiry was
required to give justice to those affected by the tragedy.
On the IPL controversy, Yechury reiterated the party's
demand for constitution of a Joint Parliamentary Committee to
look into affairs of the League.
He said Left parties would analyse the setback suffered
by them in West Bengal civic polls.
Yechury, however, said this was not an indication of
their deteriorating influence in the state.
The results also did not warrant an early assembly
poll, he said.
