Panaji: Goa`s Education Minister Atanasio
Monserrate, who was detained by Customs at Mumbai airport for
carrying Indian and foreign currency beyond permissible limits
a few days ago, on Sunday called on Congress leaders in Delhi.

All India Congress Committee`s Goa desk in-charge,
Jagmeet Singh Brar, told PTI that Monserrate met him in Delhi
and gave his side of the story. "He has given me his version.
He told me exactly what happened on that day," Brar said.

Party High Command had also sought a report from Chief
Minister Digambar Kamat, he said.

Back from Delhi, Monserrate said that he had volunteered
to go and meet the party leaders in Delhi. "I explained to him
(Brar) my stand with all details and documentary evidence," he
said here.

State BJP has started a vociferous campaign, seeking
ouster of the minister.

BJP stalled the proceedings in Goa Assembly for three
days last week over the issue.
