New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed his profound grief over the tragic demise of his party colleague and Union Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde following a car accident here this morning.
Expressing his condolences, the Prime Minister tweted, “Extremely saddened and shocked by the demise of my friend and colleague Gopinath Munde ji. His demise is a major loss for the Nation & the Govt.”

Hailing him as a rue mass leader, the Prime Minister further said Munde`s premature demise was a big setback for the people of Maharashtra and the nation.
“Gopinath Munde ji was a true mass leader. Hailing from backward sections of society, he rose to great heights & tirelessly served people,” Modi`s tweet said.

The Prime Minister, who will pay tribute to the departed leader at the BJP headquarters at the Ashoka Road in a short while, also tweeted , “We stand by them in this hour of grief. My tributes to a dynamic leader whose premature demise leaves a void hard to fill.”

Gopinath Munde died this morning in a road accident in Delhi when he was going towards an airport at Aurobindo Marg in South Delhi and was immediately admitted to AIIMS trauma centre where he died later.
