New Delhi: The government on Tuesday approved the
appointment of Rita Menon, a UP cadre IAS officer of 1975
batch, as CMD of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO)
under the Commerce and Industry Ministry.
Menon is currently serving as secretary, in the Textiles
Ministry.
She will be the CMD of ITPO for two years with effect
from the date of assumption of charge after her retirement or
until further orders, whichever is earlier, a government
release said.
The Appointment Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has also
approved appointment of Chandra Bhushan Paliwal, another UP
cadre IAS officer, as MD of National Cooperative Development
Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture.
Paliwal would be serving in the rank and pay of
Additional Secretary, the release said.
