New Delhi: In the wake of certain students
allegedly committing suicide due to examination stress, HRD
Minister Kapil Sibal today said the government is concerned
over the increasing pressure on school children.
"There is huge burden on students. We are concerned about
it. But it would not be appropriate to make any comment on any
individual case," he told reporters when asked to comment on
the issue of suicide by students.
He said the examination system needs reforms to ensure
that the students were not overstressed.
Three students in Mumbai and a student in Delhi allegedly
committed suicide in the last one week either due to exam
pressure or problems in career, police have said.
