Govt lacks will to fight corruption: Anna
Gandhian Anna Hazare hit out at the government saying that it was not committed to a strong Lokpal Bill.
Ralegan Siddhi: Social activist Anna Hazare on Wednesday hit out at the government saying that it was not committed to a strong Lokpal Bill.
“The government is not serious to fight corruption,” Hazare said addressing mediapersons.
“There is rampant corruption in lower bureaucracy. To check the corruption there is a pressing need to bring the Group-C and D employees under Lokapl,” he said.
The draft Lokpal bill suggested to bring only the Group A and B central government employees under the Lokpal ambit. However, the draft report is silent on Group C and D central government employees.
Team Anna has outrightly rejected the draft report of the Lokpal Bill in its present form.
Hazare declared to observe a day-long symbolic fast at Jantar mantar to press for a strong Lokpal on December 11.
He has threatened to go on an indefinite fast from December 27 if a strong Lokpal bill won’t be passed in the Parliament during the Winter Session.
Hazare said that during the fast, he would request voters of states going for polls to not vote for the Congress.
