‘Govt not taking action against Bangladeshis’

New Delhi: The "petty vote-bank politics" has prevented an "intense action" by the government against three crore Bangladesh nationals illegally staying here and enjoying the benefits meant for Indian citizens, a Delhi court has said.

"It is unfortunate that while genuine citizens of this country continue to suffer in abject poverty, it is petty vote-bank politics which prevents a firm, resolute and intense government action against the three crores Bangladeshi nationals illegally staying in our country, enjoying all the benefits which otherwise are the entitlements of citizens, thereby compelling the courts to step in," Additional Sessions Judge Kamini Lau said.

The court's remarks came while awarding a 4-year jail term to a Bangladesh-based man who was convicted for illegally staying here.

With reservations for minorities in government, courts etc, there will be less motivation to take action, should anyone dare to.

you should not expect any thing patriotic or any action securioty oriented from this govt.this govt. is run by crony communalists, a primeminister who has lost his nights sleppn when an indian muslim was detained for questioning in Australia. but nevcer lost sleep for an hour when hundreds are butched in bom blasts. here is govt. whose functionaries / ministers would take a opposite view when Mumbai ATS chief would name some muslim youth aas prepetrator of mumbai bomb blasts from fear of m uslim back lash. while I am sure bomb blasts are decrided by every citizens of this country irrespective of their religion. muslims are as patriotic as any other countryman but they have bveen exploited by the politicians for their advantage through their communal cronies.
