Govt rules out interlocutors for talks with Naxals

Government Tuesday ruled out appointment of any interlocutor to start dialogue with Maoists.

New Delhi: Government Tuesday ruled out
appointment of any interlocutor to start dialogue with
Maoists.
"There is no proposal to appoint interlocutors to
start a dialogue with the Left-wing extremists," Minister of
State for Home Ajay Maken informed the Lok Sabha.

However, the minister said the government has given a
call to the extremists to abjure violence and come for talks.
Last month, the government had announced appointment
of three interlocutors to hold a sustained dialogue with all
sections of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
