New Delhi: The Government on Saturday assured the
Rajya Sabha that it would bring a bill in Parliament to codify
reservation rules to enable effective implementation of the
quota in government jobs and educational institutions.
"We could not get consensus even as the government
intended to enact a law to codify rules for reservation for
SCs and STs," Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs
Prithviraj Chavan said.
At present the reservation policy it is implemented
through executive order.
