Chennai: Union Minister Vayalar Ravi on Friday
said the government is willing to help over 60 Indians
stranded in Spain in the absence of legal documents and will
issue the required certificate if they provide correct
details.

"Those who are willing to stay and work (in Spain), can
approach the Indian embassy. It will refer the case to
Ministry of External Affairs and in turn the MEA will inform
the police for verification for issuing of certificate," the
Union Overseas Affairs Minister told a private channel here.
He said the Indian embassy cannot issue any certificate
without verifying their documents.

Ravi said if the Spanish government was willing to offer
them employment after they produce a certificate then it is
for them to give the correct address.

"Definitely the government of India will help them to get
the certificate if they give the correct details," he added.
The problem arose when over 60 Indians, who were
allegedly duped by travel agents, were forced to live as
`illegal migrants` in the border region between Morocco and
Ceuta.

They were reportedly being deported from Ceuta on the
ground that they did not have any legal documents to enter
into Spain.
