New Delhi: Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu Thursday said that the government of India is working 24X7 to bring back the 40 abducted Indians from Iraq.

Naidu, who met Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, also said that Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur also has raised this issue, and they discussed it in length yesterday.
He said that they are using all their diplomatic channels to get them released at the earliest, adding "Whatever needs to be done will be done."

Naidu said, "The priority is to get them back and make their families happy."

Chief Minister Badal also said "all the abducted Indians were from Punjab," adding that he met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in this regard and will be meeting her again today.

Sushma Swaraj had earlier said that she was personally supervising the situation in Iraq.
