`Graft cases pending against 41 officials`

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has disclosed that cases of corruption against 41 government officials are pending for prosecution for over four months.

New Delhi: The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has disclosed that cases of corruption against 41 government officials are pending for prosecution for over four months.

According to the CVC, these officials belong to various ministries and public sector banks and the cases are pending as on June 30.
Among the 41 officials, seven are from the personnel, public grievances and pensions ministry, six from the urban development ministry, five each from the finance and railway ministries, three are from the the communication and technology ministry while the defence, health and family welfare, and micro, small and medium enterprises ministries account for one case each.
The defaulters` list also includes one official each from public sector banks -- Union Bank of India, Canara bank, State bank of India and the Bank of India.
