Graft now cancerous: BJP on Army Chief’s claims

New Delhi: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday slammed the government over Army Chief Gen VK Singh’s explosive revelation that he was offered a bribe by an equipment lobbyist.

The lobbyist, who recently retired from the Army, was ready to offer a bribe of Rs 14 crore to the Army Chief if he approved the acquisition of 600 sub-standard vehicles of a particular make.

Speaking to a new s channel, party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said, “This government is neck deep in corruption. Now these scamsters have the daring to approach the Army Chief…this is unheard off. This is outrageous.”

“When he (Army Chief) says this (bribe offer), this shows the state of affairs…where we have landed in. Corruption has now become a cancerous infection. Corruption is all pervasive,” he quipped.

To take up the issue in Parliament today, the BJP has given a notice to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha for suspension of question hour, Javadekar said.

“UPA government has lost its moral authority to continue even for a day,” he added.

C for Congi? OR corru. ? , Today I read in newspaper that our president (Pratibhaji) broke records of foreign visits (with her family)! Country spent around 300 Cr. What is the outcome of such expensive visits ? Bribery at all places to kill India. With huge expense of foreign travels of all the politicains, 1000 schools every year. Do we need presidential post ? (Read Rajiv Dixit on line).

It is high time Manmohan Singh Ji resigns and leads a carefree life. Worst is happening and he appears only to perform ``Coalition Dharma`` for which he is ready to go any far. We cannot afford non performance any more now. Stop taking the refuge under alibis of various nature. There should be now immediate change of central leadership so that corrupt are publicly hanged and hanged ruthlessly. We do not have any regard even for our army, fighting for our country ready always to offer even the supreme sacrifice and some idiots and Desh drohi elements want toi supply them sub-standard vehicles. Shame on them . Shame on this system.

Mate, No instance of BJP chief gadkari taking bribe and keeping in office drawer. Even if any BJP chief had taken bribe in past, does that mean all keep quiet when kangi kangaroos loot the country. Please change your mantality and screwed logic.

The corruption in uniformed service is not new and it is practised systematically. Take the example of housing facilities for serving and retired soldiers. You will find that 95% of the houses built for service/XSM are owned by officers and hardly any house is owned by men below officers rank. Just institue an inquiry and you will see the statistics speak for itself.

it has become a trend in defence organisation particularly BRO,MES to accept commission for accepting tender of any procurement.almost all officers and other staff in the chain of accepting tender get there share ranging from .05% to 15_30% depending on product quality they accept.filing fir in places with majority corrupt is suicidal.altough some of them get caught if some solid legal evidence is available,but that is very rare.at the most you can do is that keep yourself clean and be quite.
