Group of MPs write to PM, want Parliamentary team to Kashmir

A group of Left MPs has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requesting him to send a delegation of Parliamentarians to assess the situation in violence-hit Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requesting him to send a
delegation of Parliamentarians to assess the situation in
violence-hit Jammu and Kashmir.

The letter said the situation is deteriorating in the
state and the violence is escalating.

"There is a deep sense of alienation among the people.
There is a need for sending a Parliamentary delegation to
Kashmir and assess the situation there," the letter said.

The group of MPs included leader of CPI(M) IN Lok Sabha
Basudeb Acharia, Mahendra Kumar Roy, Sk Saidul Haque, Anup
Kumar Saha, K N Balagopal, T N Seema, A Sampath and M B Rajesh
(all CPI-M), among others.
