New Delhi: Refusing to get drawn into a direct confrontation with Justice Markenday Katju, former Chief Justice of India RC Lahoti, Tuesday, denied allegations levelled against him and said that he has not done anything wrong.

“Have done nothing wrong in my life, all matters on record. Don`t want to add or reduce anything more,”” he said.

Lahoti`s clarification came hours after Katju posed six questions before him in which he raised several points directly related to Lahoti`s conduct as the chief justice of India.
Importantly, the Centre, while taking note of the concerns raised by Katju, has clarified that it can`t turn the clock back to probe the allegations against three former CJIs.

Katju in a blog post had claimed that Justices R C Lahoti, Y K Sabharwal and K G Balakrishnan had made "improper compromises" and "succumbed" to political pressure from the UPA government in giving extension and elevation to an additional judge of Madras High Court who was under a corruption cloud. Katju said that the UPA government was forced to save the tainted Judge as it was put under pressure by its allay in Tamil Nadu.
