Lucknow: Social activist and member of the Jan Lokpal Bill drafting panel, Anna Hazare will address the India Against Corruption rallies, starting Friday, in Uttar Pradesh on phone.
He was scheduled to visit three cities of state - Varanasi, Lucknow and Sultanpur - to address rallies but had to drop the plan owning to health problems.
He suffers from osteoarthritis and has been hospitalised in Pune after the pain in his knees intensified. Doctors have advised bed rest for a week.
The first rally is scheduled to be held at the college ground in Varanasi at 4 pm today. The second rally is in Sultanpur tomorrow and the third meeting is in Lucknow on May 1.
Apart from Anna Hazare, Arving Kejriwal, Swami Agnivesh, Jaspal Bhatti and former DGP of UP Prakash Singh are also likely to address the rallies.
