Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday
adjourned hearing of the bail plea of self-styled godman
Nityananda Swami, arrested on criminal charges including rape,
to May 18.
Justice V B Pinto adjourned the hearing when the bail
plea came up before the vacation bench.
The Sessions court at Ramanagara, 40 km from here, had
yesterday extended Nityananda's judicial custody to May 26.
Nityananda landed in a controversy in March after local
TV channels aired purported video footage showing him in a
compromising position with a Tamil actress. He was arrested
from Solan in Himachal Pradesh on April 21.
