New Delhi: Members in the Lok Sabha today
expressed concern over the abduction of an Italian and an
Odisha MLA by Maoists and wanted the Centre to hold talks with
Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharasthra and other Naxal-hit
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Nishikant Dubey (BJP)
said the House expected a statement from the Home Minister but
it has not come.
He said Maoists are demanding that tourists should not be
allowed in tribal areas. Conversion was another major issue in
Bhartuhari Mahtab (BJD) said Maoist violence has gone from
bad to worse and it has been several days since the Italian
and the MLA have been abducted.
He wanted the Centre to hold consultations with all
Congress member Sanjay Nirupam wanted LIC to appoint a
zonal officer to look after the basic amenities of the Jeevan
Bima Nagar in Mumbai.
