Hurriyat to cooperate with India, Pak in solving Kashmir issue

Moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference on Friday said it was ready to extend full support to the two countries to address this long standing Kashmir problem.

Srinagar: Asserting that there are forces
both in India and Pakistan opposed to the resolution of
Kashmir issue, Moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference on Friday
said it was ready to extend full support to the two countries
to address this long standing problem.

"Hurriyat assures both the countries that it is ready to
extend full support at every level for resolution of Kashmir
issue," Chairman of the separatist amalgam Mirwaiz Umer Farooq
said addressing a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid here.

Observing that Kashmiris have suffered the most due to
non-resolution of the issue, he said, "We can play the role of
a bridge between India and Pakistan to bring them closer but
for that it is imperative that Kashmiris should feel secure
first."

Stressing the importance of resumption of dialogue
between the two countries, he said unless the gap is bridged
and the clouds of tension evaporate, the bottlenecks will
remain in addressing disputes between the two countries.

"Instead of levelling allegations on each other, it is
better to further speed up the dialogue process to address
Kashmir and other issues," Mirwaiz said.
