`I stand by my statement on Narendra Modi` Ahmedabad: Senior IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt, who has filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court implicating Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the 2002 riots in the wake of the Godhra train burning, said on Friday that he will not backtrack from his statement despite any pressure.

Bhatt said in his affidavit that Modi had said that Hindus should be allowed to vent their "anger" after the death of 59 kar sevaks when two bogies of the Sabramati Express were set afire Feb 27, 2002. He also expressed his doubts about the neutrality of the Special Investigative Team (SIT) probing the violence that followed and which claimed over 1,000 lives.

Answering a question by a private news channel Friday on pressure on him to withdraw his testimony, Bhatt said, "I have never backed out from saying the truth anywhere, anytime in my life."

He said that any kind of pressure would only make him more determined. "Instead of worrying me, this kind of subversion makes me more resolute because all I am doing is stating the truth. I am stating what I know," said Bhatt, a 1988 batch Indian Police Service officer.

He added that he had not publicly disclosed the information earlier as he was governed by conduct rules.

"I was privy to a whole lot of information as an intelligence officer. So I can only disclose if I was under a legal consideration and not before that," he said, pointing out that he had covered all these points in his testimony to SIT.

In 2002, Bhatt was based in Gandhinagar as deputy commissioner of intelligence in the State Intelligence Bureau. He is now posted as principal of the State Reserve Police Centre in Junagarh.

Bhatt said there was no question of his leaving the police force. "Not at all. I have 13 more years to go."

Bhatt added that concerns of safety of his family had been raised in his affidavit. He said that he had asked the state police to upgrade his security, but this was ignored - rather, his current security detail was also withdrawn.

Bhatt, in his affidavit, said, "The Chief Minister expressed the view that the emotions were running very high among the Hindus and it was imperative that they be allowed to vent out their anger."

"This time the situation warranted that the Muslims be taught a lesson to ensure that such incidents do not recur ever again," Bhatt quoted the chief minister as saying when a section of officers told him that bringing the bodies of the train burning victims to Ahmedabad from Godhra would only inflame passions.

`` was governed by conduct rules.`` so what changed NOW ? How come whenever congress gets in the jam such martyrs with excellent sense of timing materialize to lay their life for the cause of ``Truth``. Then after some media drama they disappear. Modi has been exposed and cornered so often that he should have been hanged a dozen times yet so far not an iota has gone further than ``Drama Congress Style``.

Mr. Bhatt is telling the truth about Mr. Modi`s role in 2002 Gujrat riots. One thing we all should understand is that thousands of innocent persons can never be killed without the big role of ruling Govt. leadership and Police force. No doubt BJP and Modi are guilty of their involvement in 2002 innocent killings. But don`t forget Congress and Rajeev Gandhi played the same role in 1984 Sikh Genocide killing thousands of innocent persons. Thousands of innocent persons were killed by mobs led by Congress leaders and helped by Police. Later on Rajeev openly justified innocent killings by saying Earth shakes when big tree falls and never made any effort to punish the guilty persons. Both BJP and Congress leaderships are guilty of 1984 and 2002 innocent killings. And in both cases the Justice system has failed to punish the guilty because both BJP and Congress leaderships are trying to protect their guilty leaders. But we just keep hoping that one day Justice system will wake up and act to punish the guilty Congress and BJP leaders involved in 1984 and 2002 masscare of innocent people.

Bhatt is simply trying to steal the limelight. We cannot believe that he is so much a follower of truth. He is playing in the hands of those inimical to Narendra Modi. It does not befit his position. If he has made an affidavit before the Supreme Court, he should leave it at that and should not entertain the media to say things about his righteousness.

-First the praise of Modi by Annaji, which corrupt congress are unable to digest.
-Then, whenever congress is in sticky wicket, be it corruption or 1984 anti-sikh riots, or Hanspal episode of minorities commission, they rake up the 2002 Gujarat riots ghost.
-Here, it should be investigated, whom Bhatt met in last month, day-wise.His phone calls should be investigated. Surely he may have got a call from Diggi.
-When 8 officers in meeting denied the charges, this congressi stooge may have received a kick-back from congress or is going to get one soon.

Gujrat roits is a burning AND A SAD issue kept alve for last 9years. Any life lost whether Hindu or Muslim is a big loss, yet allowing this to remain alive purely for vested interest can not be allowed. SIT under Honourable supreme court has investigated and raising fingures to Sit,s findings amounts to contempt of court/insult. What Sri Bhatt has said in his affidavit is his personnel view not based on records but hear say only. there is very thin line between The Chief Minister expressed the view that the emotions were running very high among the Hindus and it was imperative that they be allowed to vent out their anger.`` and ``The Chief Minister expressed the view that the emotions were running very high among the Hindus and it was imperative that they be NOT allowed to vent out their anger.`` Natural conclusion is Either he heard half or he is deliberately ommitting word NOT. Such misleading statements based on personnel view hits our National unity and should be discouraged and ignored

This is nothing but an anti national behavior to create a rift between the Hindus and the Muslims not only in Gujarat but also in the entire country. No doubt that the Congress must be behind this allegation. The Congress is enjoying the power for so many years on the principle of DIVIDE AND RULE and they are not hesitating at all to use this principle at any time for their vested interests. It’s really a shameful act on Congress behalf that they are playing with the presence and future of the country. What they want to prove finally? Do they want to prove that Mr. Narendra Modi is a terrorist person? Do they want to prove that the Gujarati people are fool as they have elected him as their Chief Minister? Do they want to claim that they are the only messiah of Muslims inside the country? What do they want to prove? However the entire Hindus and Muslim community have understood the DIVIDE AND RULE policy of the Congress by now and they would not be fooled anymore by the Congress. This case will create a huge boomerang on the Congress and they will be side tracked from the Gujarat politics forever.
