Bhopal: The local police is awaiting the
post-mortem report of former Indian Air Force officer Anjali
Gupta, who committed suicide here yesterday.
Gupta, who was the first woman to be court martialled
by the IAF, ended her life yesterday by hanging herself from a
ceiling fan at the house of a relative in Rohit Nagar area
under the Shahpura Police Station.
Police, who are still clueless about reason behind the
suicide, said that there are no witnesses in the case and
added that they are awaiting the post-mortem report before
probing the case.
Former flying officer Gupta, while being posted in
Bangalore, had accused her senior Air Force officers of
sexually abusing her.
However, she was dismissed by the IAF in February 2006,
when the allegations she had levelled against the officers,
were found to be false. She was later dismissed from service
and was found guilty on seven counts, including indiscipline
and insubordination to financial misappropriation.
