Mumbai: Institute of Clinical Research
India (ICRI) has entered into an academic alliance with
Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in the US to offer
Masters in `Health Administration-Global`.
The move comes in the backdrop of the government
clearing a bill to allow entry of foreign universities.
This alliance would help strengthen the roots of ICRI
globally and further the cause of grooming professionals in
the healthcare administration sector in India, Shiv Raman
Dugal, Chairman, Board of Directors, ICRI, said today.
"The students can do Masters in Health Administration
-Global from July this year from our centres in India, UK and
Singapore," he told reporters here. In India, ICRI is present
in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
"The Indian healthcare industry is seen to be growing
at a rapid pace and is expected to become a USD 280-billion
industry by 2022. Consequently, there is a need for an
appropriately skilled team of hospital administrators who can
plan and carry excellent health services," Dugal said.
"We have tied up with one of the finest universities
in the field of medical health in the US. The association with
MUSC would help ICRI deliver on the growing demand for highly
skilled healthcare professionals in India," he said.
