Washington: In the eye of a storm over his criticism of exclusion of Pakistani cricketers from a major tournament, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is hoping Shiv Sena ire against him would not be visited on his new film.

"If there is an issue with me you have to sort it out with me and talk to me about my ideology," he said over the phone from New York where he was to promote his new film "My Name Is Khan".

"As far as the film is concerned, that is an incidental thing. According to me, that's not something they should take their ire against and hopefully they won't and nobody will and it will release and, inshallah, people will like it," he said.

"I have nothing to respond," said Shah Rukh when asked about Shiv Sena's threat to disrupt the screening of the film if he did not apologise for speaking against the exclusion of Pakistani cricketers from the Indian Premier League (IPL).

"I don't even understand what 'My Name Is Khan' has got to do with what I say," he said.

"You know 'My Name Is Khan' is not only my film. It has got Kajol and Karan (Johar) and hundred and fifty other people whose livelihood depends on that."

"And if there is an issue with me you have to sort it out with me and talk to me about my ideology," said Shah Rukh, who owns the Kolkata Knight Riders team, while sticking to his guns on the issue.

"I have no take on anybody's statement" he said referring to Shiv Sena leaders' criticism of his views. "I can only do a take on my statement. And what I say and what everyone believes in... what I say that we are Indians and we should have everyone like to live freely and happily and be good."

"And so there is nothing new, we learnt it in class three civics books till I finished my masters that this is what I was taught by my parents and my mom."

"And I don't know what the issue is really. I mean what is wrong in saying what I say that everyone is welcome to my country and I welcome them with open arms, whether it's art, culture, sport, politics... you know, whatever."

"Everyone has got the right to do what they wish to do in our country. That's why it's the biggest democracy apparently," Shah Rukh said.

Well said SRK. I am glad that prominent Indians like you are speaking their minds on this issue. By preventing the showing of the movie the Maharashtra government is going to lose a lot of revenue. Is this good for Maharashtra or the Marathi people? www.indiafirsthand.com

I think in one word this whole issue can be seen, that who started all this nonsense issue. SRK started i to bring more Muslims to see my name is KHAN worldwide. I think he has achived his target This was his Master stroke to tell all Muslim world to see his movie. I am sure this movie will be biggest hit all over counties having muslim population. He does not care about common man, what kind of disturbance he has created in minds of people of India. Everybody is talking of his movie and love towards Pak. A true Businessman and then a Muslim and worst kind of Humanbeing. I take pledge on my own to never go to SEE his Movies any more.

What Thakrey`s have done for India except digging pitches and making noises over the mike. Samana is their personal property, thay can write anything and its upto the reader whether to spend money to purchase samana or not. Their shop is getting closed fast so they are trying that. If they have the right to say anything to anyone, every one else has the same rights. And Shiv Sena has no rights to shut them up. And others are using better language than these opportunistics. They should change their name to Thakrey Sena from Shiv Sena bcoz Lord Shiva is getting a bad name , no true disciple of Lort Shiva will like to see these rioters being called as Shiv Sainiks, and Lord Shiva also may not be knowing Marathi, so they should follow some Marathi speaking GOD from Maharashtra. Moreover Lord Shiva is from North India, so they should follow some Marathi GOD. And Thakreys are also from Khandva , Madhya Pradesh, so too are outsiders to Mumbai, so they should also not try to be the sole proprietors of Mumbai. Shahrukh should trust GOD to give results on his movie. He has fans all over the world, just Maharashtra release will not affect his or movie`s fortunes. Under no circumstances he should aplogize and he purchased MANNAT from his hard earned money and not political donations, so he should live in style there and Govt should provide all sorts of security.

IPL is a business venture.If the price is right Pakis would have been recruited.i think that is the case.
Even otherwise there is nothing wrong even rejecting Pakis.Do yuo know about SA ,Apartheid and olympics.
There is nothing wrong in not hiring Pakis.
That is what a patriotic organisation should do.

India is being run from across the border Indian govt is literally begging Pakistan to talk and pakistan is ready but insisting that they will talk only if Kashmir is included - As such nothing changed after 26/11 - it is business as usual - SRK-Sena - No regards or sensitivity for the sentiments of victims of 26/11 and other pak sponsored terror. And ironically while we comment some poor Indian soldier will be killed by a paki bullet.What about his victimized family??? - All this side lined and SRK being projected as Voice of India???? So why don`t the Indian public take these politioians to task. Whether pakistani players are playing or not is an entirely different story. There is nothing wrong in sRk`s statement. After all India is a democracy and isn`t there a freedom of speech there. Also what is a politician doing going head-to-head with an actor when he should be resolving the poverty in the country and other issues

Because they will come in hordes to see the movie of their sympathizer. You are sympathized with the Pakis to promote your film Shiv Sena (what ever their motive may be ) is trying to disrupt your film because they oppose Paki-sympathy. And I can smell the publicity gimmick in your statement. Because whole India knows that Sena opposes such issues.
