Ahmedabad: Premier B-School Indian
Institute of Management, Ahmedabad(IIM-A) on Tuesday hiked the
admission fee for Post Graduate Programme(PGP) batch 2010-2012
by 9.6 per cent compared to last year's.
Besides, the IIMB also decided to hike fee for two-year post-graduate
programmes.
The fee for the PGP-batch 2010-2012 has been revised
to Rs 13.70 lakh from 12.5 lakh for the batch 2009-11, which
includes all costs other than food, a statement from IIM-A
said today.
The fee hike has been arrived at after taking into
account the significant increase in costs due to
implementation of Sixth Pay Commission’s Recommendations as
well as general rise in operating costs due to high inflation,
the statement said.
The fee is about 9.6 per cent higher over the 2009-11
batch, it further said.
IIMB hikes fee to Rs 13 lakh
Indian Institute of Management
Bangalore today decided to hike fee for two-year post-graduate
programmes to Rs 13 lakh from the present 11.5 lakh, from the
coming academic year.
The decision was taken at a meeting of Board of Directors,
chaired by Mukesh D Ambani.
IIMB Director Prof Pankaj Chandra told reporters that the
students would have to pay fee of Rs six lakh in the first
year and the remaining Rs seven lakh in the second.
He, however, said IIMB is strongly committed to the
philosophy that no student would be denied an opportunity to
pursue the post-graduate programme in management for want of
financial resources.
"The Institute provided financial assistance amounting
to about Rs 4.38 crore to 136 students during the year
2009-10", Prof Chandra pointed out.
