Income Tax begins probing Nitin Gadkari`s companies Mumbai: After Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Income Tax department too has launched a probe to trace the source of funding of various firms that invested in BJP president Nitin Gadkari's company Purti Power and Sugar Limited (PPSL).

"We will trace the source the funds of the companies including the 18 companies that invested in Purti," a top IT official told PTI on condition of anonymity. He said prima facie 'shell' companies (inactive firms used as a vehicle for various financial manoeuvres or kept dormant for future use in some other capacity) had pumped money into PPSL.

Mumbai: After Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Income Tax department too has launched a probe to trace the source of funding of various firms that invested in BJP president Nitin Gadkari's company Purti Power and Sugar Limited (PPSL).

Officials of the investing companies would be summoned in due course and, if needed, the BJP chief would also be asked to be present, the sources said.

Gadkari is at the centre of a raging controversy over funding of PPSL with media reports claiming that major investments and large loans to Purti were made by Ideal Road Builders (IRB) group, which had won contracts between 1995 and 1999, when the BJP chief was PWD minister in Maharashtra.

Media reports also claimed that shell companies were floated for making investments and their fake addresses were submitted to the Registrar of Companies.

On Tuesday, Corporate Affairs Minister Veerappa Moily had said that Registrars of Companies would inquire into the allegations.

On his part, Gadkari has denied the allegations and said he was prepared for a probe.

Instead of doing this has to stepdown from his position to upheld ethics and morality of the party at this moment that will allow his colleages to attack Congress party corrupt politicians and son in law of Sonia Gandhi. If party keeps him in his position without asking to resign naturally lost the ethics of questioning other political leaders on the same issue of his own party presidents alleged. Why Advanji and RSS organization should answer to this as country people waiting eagerly and curiosly.

It clearly shows Advanji’s double standard on allegations coming against party leaders when we compare Yediyurappa issue here. It clear shows that this issue need to be discuss and debate so long that he is the one who bit not listen to Advani and despite his persistent oppose his second term manage to get it in last party highest policy making meeting by amending policy. He should resign on his own instead getting pressure before stepdown would he be strong supporter of clean image and person should free from all kind of corruptions. He is having fair chance to prove his clean image in law of court till that should away from party position and then can return by clean chit from as he and his party veterans leaders saying he is innocent. If they let him to continue though charges are against hims show on purly personal agenda asked Yediyurappa to resign to make their own member to head the government as he alleges.

The question is not of double standards, but of parity. Why can we not expect the same regarding the charges against Vadra, Khurshid, Manmohan Singh, Sheila Dixit, Sharad Pawar, Chidambaram, and Pranab Mukherjee to name a few?
