India lacks the killer instinct: Mumbai top cop Mumbai: Mumbai Police Commissioner D Sivanandan has said unlike Israel, which immediately reacts to any terror attacks, India lacked the killer instinct against those who carry out such attacks.

"Since thousands of years, we have been passively witnessing all terror attacks. We never went to fight with anybody. That's what our main problem is and we lack the killer instinct," he said.

"We cannot go and wage a war against Pakistan, China or anybody else. But Israel never keeps quiet. Israelis go on their flights, bombard the fellows (enemies), come back and keep quiet. But when we become aggressive, we face international pressure," Sivanandan, who has recently been appointed Police Commissioner, said.

Sivanandan was giving power-point presentation on safety and security measures to be adopted at residential, commercial complexes in the city at a programme on Tuesday organised by Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry, an umbrella organisation of developers in the state.

"So the time has come to sit and protect ourselves and we need to take utmost safety precautions in the wake of recent audacious terror attacks," he added.

Rahul -
Ok, but Bangladesh has no nuclear arms. How come BSF people were very brutaly murdered by them and Indian forces accepted that?

Mr. Sivanandhan’s views that -“India lacked the killer instinct against those who carry out terror attacks” are absolutely justified. Time has come when we too should combat terrorism like the Israelis do. Since India seems to be considered a soft nation, it is always targeted by the country like Pakistan without keeping any fear of retaliation from our side. As Mr. Sivanandhan said, time has come when we should fight terrorism in more aggressive and offensive way. R.K. Sharma (Thane-W)

Mr.sivanandan rightly said we have to act like Israelites we have to go behind and chase the enimies kill the intruders. If we so passive then let us get burried ourselves rather than living.
