Indian-American designated to top USITC office
Indian-American Vivek Kumar, an alumni of the Delhi College of Engineering, has been appointed as the chief procurement official in the US International Trade Commission.
Washington: Indian-American Vivek Kumar,
an alumni of the Delhi College of Engineering, has been
appointed as the chief procurement official in the US
International Trade Commission.
Deanna Tanner Okun, chairman of US International Trade
Commission (USITC), said Kumar will serve as the Director,
Office of Procurement of the Commission.
Prior to joining the USITC, Kumar served as the Vice
President for Contracts with Xerox Corporation, where he
managed the company`s transportation division.
Previously, he gained federal procurement experience
while working on a contract basis with numerous federal
agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration and
the US Agency for International Development.
He began his career on the team for corporate-wide
initiatives at Lockheed Martin Corporation`s headquarters in
Kumar, who earned a bachelor of science degree from
the Delhi College, holds a master of business administration
degree and a Master of Science degree from Southeastern
University, as well as a Master`s Certificate in Government
Contracting from the George Washington University.
