Dubai: Two Indian men have been sentenced to three years in jail for running a prostitution racket in Bahrain.

The duo is among 19 men and women standing trial at the Lower Criminal Court, according to a newspaper report.

The court also sentenced nine of the Indian women for two years each for practicing prostitution, the Gulf Daily News report said.

All men and women will be deported after they complete their sentences.

Court documents say the police received information that a building in Manama was being used as a prostitution den.

They carried out investigations and after verifying the authenticity of the information a warrant was issued to search the building and make arrests.

A police source disguised as a customer went into the building and sought one of the girls.

During interrogation the women admitted to practicing prostitution.
