India's second child witness court room inaugurated today

India's second child witness court room (CWCR), designed to help child witnesses depose freely, will be inaugurated at the Saket court complex on Wednesday.

New Delhi: India's second child witness court room (CWCR), designed to help child witnesses depose freely, will be inaugurated at the Saket court complex on Wednesday.

The event comes almost exactly two years after the first CWCR was inaugurated at the Karkardooma courts complex here.

The CWCR has been designed with the objective to provide children, who are sometimes witnesses in cases pertaining to sexual offences, an environment conducive for them as against the usual tense atmosphere of the court.

The inauguration will be done by Supreme Court Judge Ranjana Prakash Desai.

Justice G Rohini, the first woman Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court and Justice Gita Mittal, among other judges, will also be present at the event.

It has been designed with the objective to provide child witnesses an environment conducive for them as against the usual tense atmosphere of the court.
