Jammu: An encounter broke out between the
security forces and militants along the Line of Control in
Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir in which an ultra was
killed.
Acting on a tip-off, Army troops and police launched a
cordon and search operation close to the LoC in Veerbadeswar
forward area in Kerni belt of Rajouri district to track down a
group of infiltrating militants early Tuesday morning, Rajouri
Senior Superintendent of Police Ramesh Jalla said.
During the search of the area, the encounter took
place in which one militant was killed, he said.
The encounter was still going on as it is suspected
that some more militants are hiding in the area, he said.
One AK rifle, five magazine, five grenades and some
medicines have been recovered from the spot, SSP said.
