Mumbai: Israeli's multi-billion innovative life sciences industry is exploring possibilities for co- development, licensing and manufacturing of their patented products here and make India a launching pad for export of their products to other Asian countries.

"We are here on an exploratory trip to find business partners in life sciences industry as well as in multi- disciplinary hospitals for co-development, licensing and manufacturing of our patented products in India," David Furst, Director (EuroAsia), Skyquest Technology Group said.

Skyquest is a global technology transfer company and an advisor to life sciences industry of Israel. The multi- national firm, whose Indian office is located in Ahmedabad, has 58 patented technologies.

"We are also looking for Indian investors so that we could build a consortium for making life sciences products more accessible and affordable to the people of Asia and other countries," he said.

Furst is here on a two-day visit with a delegation of representatives of his country's life sciences industry. He was speaking at an interactive session here. Nine companies are part of the delegation.

Since India and China are untapped markets for Israel's products, "we want to give chance to our young life science industry to explore opportunities with Indian partners-- both industry and hospitals," Furst said.
