New Delhi: The opposition BJP on Tuesday hit out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for deciding to back UPA candidate Pranab Mukherjee in Presidential polls.
Speaking to reporters, BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman asked: Was it just posturing (Mamata opposing Pranab’s candidature earlier)?
“What has made Mamata change her mind,” she asked further.
Mamata earlier this evening announced that her party will support Pranab Mukherjee in the Presidential poll. The party has taken the decision to support Pranab as it was left with no other option, she added.
She however added that the TMC is not happy about having to support Pranab.
