It`s Narendra Modi`s habit to twist words to suit himself: Rajeev Shukla

Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla said that Bharatiya Janata Party`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has a habit of twisting words to suit himself.

New Delhi: Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla on Tuesday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has a habit of twisting words to suit himself.

Shukla was referring to Modi`s tweet on him being a victim of caste discrimination.

"It is Modi`s habit to twist everything. Neech rajniti means cheap politics, not low-caste politics. There is a difference between neech rajniti and jaati (Caste)," said Shukla.

"It is not right to twist things, he should instead focus on his seat. In fact, he has said a lot of false things about former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in his Amethi rally. Such speeches mustn`t be delivered, it is wrong," he added.
Earlier in the day, Modi tweeted claiming that he was targeted as he belonged to a backward class.

In reply to Congress president, Sonia Gandhi`s daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra`s barb aimed at him for practising `low-level` of politics yesterday, Modi has tweeted stating that he was targeted as he belonged to a backward caste, "I belong to lower caste of society, that is why they think my politics is `low-level` politics."

While campaigning for BJP candidate Smriti Irani in Amethi on Monday, Modi accused the Congress party of being arrogant, and criticised former prime minister, Rajiv Gandhi, for being arrogant, reminding the public as to how he publicly humiliated former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, T Anjaiah, at airport when Rajiv Gandhi was a general secretary of the party.
Hitting back at Modi, Priyanka had said, "They have insulted my martyred father on the soil of Amethi. People of Amethi will never forgive them for this act. Workers in Amethi will reply to their (BJP`s) low-level politics. There will be reply from each of the booths."
