New Delhi: In his first address to the crowd at Mumbai’s MMRDA Ground, a fasting Anna Hazare on Tuesday said the elected representatives in Parliament would have to listen to the voice of the people.

“Jan Parliament is bigger than the parliament in Delhi,” a visibly ill Hazare told his supporters.

Hazare, who began his three-day fast at MMRDA Ground today, has not been keeping well and has been advised by his team members to call off his fast. However, the Gandhian has refused to end his fast for the strong Lokpal Bill.

He told his supporters, “I don’t fear death... My life is dedicated to the society and the nation.”

“I have resolved to fight till the very end for Lokpal... I would love to die for the country,” Hazare said.

He accused the government of cheating the people.

“The government is not cheating Anna or Team Anna, but the people of the country,” he said, adding “one day the people would teach them a lesson”.

“I will campaign against the government in five poll-bound states,” he added.

Talking about his future endeavours, Hazare said his next campaign would be for the Right to Reject so as to rid the politics of criminals.

“Goondas and criminals are entering politics now. We have to fight for electoral reforms to prevent this,” Hazare said.

“Right to reject provision will not allow goondas to enter Parliament,” he added.
