Patna: Alleging that the size of scams under the Congress had "swollen to a great extent", JD(U) on Friday stressed the need for holding nation-wide struggle against the
Congress on corruption.
"Courtesy the Congress, the size of corruption in the country has swollen to a great extent... according to a CAG report the country suffered huge loss of 1.77 lakh crore in
the allotment of the 2G spectrum", JD(U) spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari said.
Stating that the issue was not not "only limited" to A Raja or his ministry, Tiwari said it was being alleged that Raja`s ministry had even not not bothered to care for the
sugegstions of the Law and Finance ministries on the issues.
"What was the Prime Minister`s office doing at that stage?" Tiwari asked and said the process of allotment of the 2G spectrucm adopted by Raja at that time was "not not
confidential but known to all and the Centre should have interfered then and there itself."
Similarly, the party ignored charges of corruption in organising the CWG and Adarsh Apartment issue, Tiwari said.
"Corruption has made the country hollow and it is the need of the hour to rid the country of it", he said.
"There is an urgent need to launch nation-wide struggle against the Congress on the issue of corruption", he said.
