Jinnah, Savarkar equally responsible for partition: Aiyar

New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP Mani Shankar Aiyar Saturday held Pakistan's founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Vinayak Damodar 'Veer' Savarkar equally responsible for the partition of India in 1947.

Speaking at a convention of the Congress' Delhi unit on "Communal Harmony and Indian National Congress," Aiyar, a former minister, said that Savarkar favoured the "two nation theory" as he wanted a "Hindu nation" and also supported Jinnah's demand for a separate state of Pakistan.

He termed the RSS and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) "the children of Savarkar".

If India became a Hindu state, sectarian clashes would take place between "Shaivites and Vaishnavites" just like between Shia and Sunni Muslims in Pakistan," he claimed.

Speaking on the occassion, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said the Congress is a secular party and "people from all sections of society are a part of it and get equal status".

The event was organised as part of the Congress' 125th anniversary celebrations.

RSS and Savarkar have always talking about akhand Bharat. The word Akhand Bharat implies who was responsible for partition the most shameful and painful incident people suffered. Akhand Bharat has no place for separate Hindustan or Pakistan. The partition took place for two power lusty people one is Jinnah and another Nehru.

This Mr. Aiyar stinks. He never loses an opportunity to degrade Hindus. His original base is in Pakistan and almost all of his relatives there now have converted to ``you know what``. This is the same man who threw out Veerk Savarkar`s memorial from the prison in Port of Blair. How long do we need to tolerate this stinking man!

I believe, there was no one else but Nehru, we all know that Jinnah was a member of Congress at first, he left and created that muzlim league afterwards, as i understand, bapu and jinnah were in good terms but Nehru did the wrong things by showing his gesture of making a hindu state, if Nehru was of the same mind set as of Bapu, jinnah would never ask for a seperate nation, i can bet on that
