New Delhi: A day after a video clip showing two of its students in a compromising situation came to light, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Tuesday said it will wait for the report of its internal enquiry before filing a police complaint.

An internal enquiry has been set up under JNU chief proctor H.C. Bohidar in the matter. "The chief proctor is investigating the matter and a number of students are being questioned. He is expected to submit the report to JNU vice chancellor in a week time," a JNU official told IANS.
The official said the video clip was allegedly shot last year but any police complaint will be lodged only after receiving the internal report.

According to media reports, the video involving a boy and a girl was shot in JNU`s Tapti hostel, but the authorities said they will only be able to confirm after the enquiry is over.

The boy and girl were students of the School of Languages, while the boy who allegedly shot the video is a student of computer applications, the official said. The girl left the university last year, the official said.

According to DCP (South) H.G.S. Dhaliwal, police are awaiting confirmation from the university which has launched an internal probe in the matter.

"The girl and her friend were intimately involved. Another boy allegedly shot the video. JNU is yet to verify this," Dhaliwal told reporters here.
The JNU administration came to know about the video clip last week when the security department of the university submitted it to the proctor`s office.
