Joshi, Mohan Singh to get Outstanding Parliamentarian Award

Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi and Mohan Singh of Samajwadi Party have been chosen for the Outstanding Parliamentarian Award for last two years.

Joshi and Mohan Singh of Samajwadi Party have been chosen for
the Outstanding Parliamentarian Award for last two years.

Joshi is a member of Lok Sabha from Varanasi while Singh
is a former Member of Parliament and is the national spokesman
of the SP.

The Award will be presented at a function to be held
during Monsoon Session of Parliament.

The names were announced by the Award committee chaired
by Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar after considering nominations
for the 2008 and 2009.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, CPI leader Indrajit Gupta,
former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Chandra
Shekar, former Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, Union Ministers
Pranab Mukherjee, S Jaipal Reddy, Sharad Pawar and
P Chidambaram, BJP leader L K Advani, Congress leaders Arjun
Singh and Mani Shankar Aiyar, Leader of Opposition in Lok
Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Darjeeling MP Jaswant Singh are past
recipients of the Award.
