JWG to sort out problems: BSF DG

problems between the two countries, according to Director
General of BSF Raman Srivastava.

"The Joint Working Group meeting to be held in April
would discuss the boundary issue in order to find out amicable
solution to the problems," Srivastava told reporters here
today after meeting Meghalaya Governor R S Mooshahary.

Srivastava discussed with the Governor the recent
skirmish between BSF and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) causing
tensions along the Indo-Bangladesh border at Muktapur area
under Meghalaya sector.

When asked if the recent exchange of fire between BSF and
BDR in the Indo-Bangladesh border at Muktapur was having any
connection with boundary issue, the BSF chief said it was a
minor incident said that India would not like anyone to take
advantage of the boundary between the two countries.

The incident was discussed at the Inspector General level
talks by BSF and BDR and has been sorted out amicably, he
said.

He also informed that the issue would be taken in the
forthcoming DG level talks where he would personally discuss
with his Bangladesh counterpart.

The BDR troops fired at the BSF along the Indo-Bangla
border at Muktapur in Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya on
February 14.
