Kapil Sibal debuts on Twitter
Communications and IT Minister Kapil Sibal today joined the popular micro blogging site Twitter and also generated a following of over 5,100 by evening.
New Delhi: Communications and IT Minister Kapil Sibal on Thursday joined the popular micro blogging site Twitter and also generated a following of over 5,100 by evening. Sibal had also launched his personal website on November 1.
Sibal, who is also the Law Minister, debuted on the site at around noon with a tweet: "Here I am. One of you. Lets talk," followed by a couple of tweets on censorship and Section 66A.
"For the record, I`m against #censorship and all for self-regulation on the #internet," said one of his tweets and he also shared the link of Department of Electronics and IT (Deity) for an advisory to clarify Section 66A.
Sibal is following nine twitter handles which include Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, his deputy Milind Deora and colleagues Digvijaya Singh, Naveen Jindal, Shashi Tharoor and Deepender Hooda.
He got a mixed response from people with some welcoming the Minister, while some have hard hitting tweets for him.
"@KapilSibal Welcome to twitter!! :) Not only politics but would like to see some poetry too!," said one of the tweets.
