New Delhi: DMK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi is coming to Delhi on Sunday. On the agenda of his scheduled talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi are a number of issues, most important of which is getting his daughter Kanimozhi and Union Telecom Minister A Raja`s names cleared in the 2G spectrum controversy.

While DMK sources have ruled out A Raja, the party’s Dalit face, will be the focus of talks, it is quite clear why Karunanidhi is coming to the capital. Raja is under pressure from the opposition to resign on the issue of alleged corruption in the allocation of 2G spectrum.

The CBI is already probing the 2G spectrum scam that allegedly led to a loss of Rs 60,000 crores.

The continued absence from Parliament of Karunanidhi`s son and Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister MK Alagiri is also expected to come up for discussion in the Tamil Nadu CM’s meeting with Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi.

Alagiri`s absence during the Question Hour had created a ruckus in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha last week.

Karunanidhi’s visit is being seen as an attempt to resolve issues that could lead to problems in the Congress-DMK alliance ahead of Assembly Elections in Tamil Nadu in May next year.

DMK sources said Karunanidhi will also discuss the Sri Lankan Tamils` political settlement issue with the Prime Minister and the Congress chief. On Monday, he will attend a Planning Commission meet on Tamil Nadu`s plan allocation.
