Kasab’s U-turn won’t affect trial: Nikam

Mumbai: 26/11 Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam on Friday dismissed the bizarre story being created by Ajmal Amir Kasab and said that it will not affect the trial in any way.

“I knew Kasab is a dramatic actor and a trained commando. He knows how to trick someone. That’s why I have recorded statement of 610 witnesses. It will be very difficult for him to dodge the law,” Nikam told reporters after today’s hearing.

Rejecting Kasab’s statements, Nikam said, “He (Kasab) said that he came 20 days before the November 26 attacks. But he does not know that what the law does not make anything out of these lies. We have strong evidence against him.”

“This is the first time in the world that a trial of terrorist in which, a record, 610 people has given their statements in just 7 months,” he added.
